On Thursday, October 1, 2026, Chiquita experienced unplanned downtime of Flare 2 at approximately 2:36am due to flame failure. At approximately 4:26am, a grid power outage subsequently resulted in unplanned downtime of all flares and TOxs. Zeeco TOxs 1, 6, and 7 and the Hero TOx were successfully restarted within approximately 30 minutes of the power outage, and Flares 1 and 3 resumed operation by approximately 6:02am. Flare 2 remains offline, and Chiquita is working to restore operation as soon as practicable. The Parnel TOx was already offline prior to the grid power outage due to flame failure, as previously noticed, and work to restore operation remains ongoing. Due to these downtimes, there was a possibility of increased odors in the community during the indicated time periods.
